HIGHLIGHTS
If you’re all about choosing fun, then buckle up because Lance Dye has just wrapped up an FUN-tastic experience aboard Carnival Jubilee, and he’s here to give you the full scoop. From the world’s first roller coaster at sea to an array of epic dining options and non-stop action on the high ropes, this ship is packed with thrills. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or just curious, you’ll want to dive into these highlights from one of the most exciting sailings out there. Let’s get started!
1. The Size of the Ship:The sheer size of the ship is incredible and gives you that ultimate wow factor as you pull up to the Galveston Cruise Terminal. The towering structure and endless balconies right in front of you is insane and gets your heart pumping with excitement.
Bolt: The World’s First Roller Coaster at Sea: As a roller coaster guy, I’ve gotta say, this ride is a rush. You control your speed, and with the boost button, it’s like letting loose and getting your wild side out. It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted!
High Ropes Course: There are two different tracks, one’s easier, the other really pushes your fear of heights. Once you’re harnessed in and clipped to the track, you’re off on your own adventure. From zip-lining off the side of the ship to ninja-style obstacles, it’s a blast.
Tiki Bar: Located midship on Deck 16, this two-story Tiki Bar is right where all the action happens. With a big selection of cocktails and drinks, it’s the perfect spot to jump into the excitement.
Plenty of Pools: You’ve got multiple pools to pick from. The adults-only Serenity area up front, Loft 19 and Havana Cabana with their private pools, plus the midship pool where the deck parties kick off. There’s also Tides Pool and Summer Landing more than enough options to cool off in the 30°C heat we had onboard.
Water Park Fun: The water park has plenty of slides for kids and adults who are kids at heart. Plus, there’s a splash park for the little ones with a dumping water bucket and all. The perfect spot to cool down.
Restaurants Galore: Whether it’s paid or free, the food options are insane. You’ve got The Marketplace (a buffet with different cuisines), Guy’s Burger Joint, Big Chicken, Blue Iguana for burritos and tacos, a deli, pizzeria, and more. There’s also specialty spots like Bonsai Sushi, Chibang (a Mexican-Asian fusion), Emeril’s Bistro, and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. You won’t go hungry, that’s for sure.
Show Lounges: The ship has two show lounges, and Grand Central is my favorite. During the day, it’s all open glass with ocean views. At night, the screens close up and the space transforms into a mind-blowing show with acrobatics, singing, and dancing. It’s seriously impressive.
Smooth Sailing: I’ve done this Western Caribbean itinerary three times now, and it’s like sailing on a millpond. It can get rough at times, but most of the time, the waters are smooth, and the sunsets are spectacular. It’s got that true island vibe.
Amazing Crew: Carnival is known for their friendly, upbeat crew, but the team on this ship really stood out. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and they brought the fun along with them, making the whole experience even better.
