HIGHLIGHTS
Welcome aboard Icon of the Seas, where innovation meets adventure on the high seas! Nicole Stojic takes us on an exhilarating journey through the ship’s standout features that are sure to captivate every traveller. From dazzling productions that rival Broadway to heart-pounding waterpark fun, every corner of this magnificent vessel promises unforgettable experiences. Join Nicole as she shares her excitement and highlights from her voyage, showcasing the magic that awaits you on this remarkable ship!
1. The Wizard of Oz production: What an incredible show! I felt like we were on Broadway; the costumes and the cast were fantastic, and the stage props were next-level amazing. I won’t give it away but keep an eye out for Dorothy in the tornado scene – it was the highlight of the show for me!
2. AquaDome: The innovation that is AquaDome on deck 14 was something I could never imagine seeing onboard a ship. Watching the performers dive from incredible heights, through the towering waterfall, and then into a pool was breathtaking. It was so impressive and left me in awe of the incredible athletes onboard.
3. Surfside: It was great to see this space dedicated to families and smaller children. Mum and Dad can enjoy a drink while their kids play Splashaway Bay, and seeing the joy on little one’s faces as they ride the carousel was something special. Families can enjoy multiple dining options like Surfside Eatery and Pier 7, along with the games arcade and Sugar Beach.
4. Perfect Day at CocoCay: WOW! What an experience. We spent the morning on Thrill Island going down the tallest waterslide in North America. Then in the afternoon we relaxed, ate and enjoyed music at a swim up bar in the adults-only Hideaway Beach Club. It really was the perfect day at CocoCay!
5. Teppanyaki: We had such a fun dinner experience. Teppanyaki is so interactive, we laughed so much, enjoyed delicious food and made new friends! The chef was engaging and joked with us all, making the experience feel like we were in a little club.
6. Absolute Zero: Ice-skating at sea has always been one of my favourite features onboard Royal Caribbean ships. Absolute Zero was an electric, high-energy show, that kept us on the edge of our seats!
7. The Pearl: The Pearl is both stunning and fascinating. It is the first thing you see when you board this incredible ship and the highlight of the Royal Promenade.
8. Central Park: The most peaceful place to enjoy the warm weather during the day, watching real butterflies fly by. At night, enjoy cocktails and jazz music in Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues. In fact, Lou’s Jazz ’n Blues is my favourite bar onboard.
9. Thrill Island & Category 6 Waterpark: When it comes to a favourite activity, it’s a very close call between the Category 6 Waterpark and Crown’s Edge. But Category 6 wins, just by an inch! My husband and I headed straight to the waterpark within an hour of embarking the ship and had to try every slide. I even beat him on the waterslide race!
10. Rover: Last but certainly not least, Rover is such a special addition to Icon of the Seas. As ‘Chief Dog Officer’, Rover’s job is to bring joy, love and happiness to guests. Her beautiful personality and loving puppy smile were so heartwarming, and it was always such a pleasure to see her walking around the ship greeting guests and making them smile.
